OBSERVATION ON THE LATEST WRITE UP BY CHIEF ALHAJI LATEEF SAKA , THE ASOJU OLOTA OF UNVERSE ( DIASPORA.) TITLED " THE BIRTH ERA OF UNITY AMONG OUR ROYAL FATHERS IN OGUN STATE.."
What a beautiful write up !! To consolidate the laudable peace initiative and /or consensus approach in wielding fractured interests together . It's also important that we use our biros to strengthen the processes as opposed to exacerbating subtle simmering conflicts which almost led us to precipe in recent times If others aren't talking ,we in Ado Kingdom as equal partner in the Awori Agenda gets our psyche injured ..If I may ask this pertinent question,Chief, ,how did you arrive at the position describing Ota and Iseri Olofin as the two most ancient Awori Kingdoms ? In as much that I won't join issues with you as to your liberty to say or write within the ambit of law , it's equally important that there are other ancient Awori enclaves not only in Ogun but also in Lagos State. .With profound respect ,I doubt if you ever take interest in reading extensively Historical Journals and documented publications by eminent historians including the late Prof.Akinjogbin ,a revered authority on Ife History, ,Morton Williams on Trans Atlantic Slave and Oyo Tradition around 1670-1800s as it relates to vassal Kingdoms and his conclusion on "the Awori Chiefdom of Ado"as independent of Oyo Imperial control. See also Prof .A.I Asiwaju PH.D Thesis on Impact of colonial rule on Western Yorubaland, later published as a book in 1976 at pages 36 -37. You may also see Ajisafe ,an Egba Historian on the History of Abeokuta or Egbas in the 1920s and republished thereafter on Ado as well. I commend, .,S.B Biobaku (1957),Asiwaju2001 ,Folayan,at the University of Ibadan (1967) ,and our late eminent historian,Prof Kunle Lawaln ,all their write ups would reinforce us and/or impart much historical facts .The bottomline is the need to inculcate broaden intellectual trajectory to our understanding of Awori peoples and their origins cum disparate cultures .Every town no matter its anciency or recency are critical factors as stakeholders n the Awori historical discourse as opposed to what may be described in extreme end as myopic..I sincerely enjoin your esteemed honour to read much on Ado nay other Awori Kingdoms for a robust unbiased contribution .Our people in diaspora are asking reasonable questions that are we not reading write ups undermining Ado Kingdom eminence in Yoruba history and culture, contrary to what historical facts bequeath ed on Ado for centuries? Keep fit our revered Asoju Olota Aworiland in diaspora.I haven't canvassed that Ado Kingdom needs polish history ,afikun or ayokuro, because its chequered history are too salient to be ignored as an autonmous ancient Kingdom for centuries .Keep fit and focused .
Prince Alagbe ,Kabir Olawale ,a Political Scientist and Lawyer hails from the Olofin Adimula Odua Royal Heritage of Ado Kingdom,Aworiland ,Ogun State.
On point sir.
